This Privacy Policy describes how Fyxr, Inc. ("Fyxr", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information in connection with the Fyxr application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
The Platform is intended for users in the United States and for services offered in the United States.
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

Please do not include health or medical information about yourself or anyone in your household in a job posting. Describe the work you need (for example, "install grab bars in the bathroom") rather than a medical reason for it.

We do not store raw full payment card numbers or full bank account details in our systems when those details are collected directly by Stripe or another payment processor.
If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive certain account information from Google, such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier, subject to the permissions you grant and Google's policies.
If you ask about our website design or other professional services through our website, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, business name and type, current website, websites you like, project goals, preferences and timeline, and any photos you choose to send. The inquiry, including any photos, is delivered to us by email through our email delivery provider. We do not add it to your Platform account or store the photos on Platform systems, and the automated image screening described in Section 5 does not apply to them. We keep the inquiry in our email for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, prepare a proposal, provide any services you engage us for, and maintain business records.
We derive information from your account and your activity on the Platform, such as when you joined, when you last used the Platform, whether and how often you post jobs, submit bids, are hired, complete work or leave reviews, your verification and membership status, whether your payout account is set up, when your licenses and insurance expire, and your city and state. We use it to group accounts into audiences for our own communications and to understand where the marketplace needs more clients or contractors.

Messages, attachments, and other content sent through the Platform are stored by us and our service providers. We and our automated systems may access and review that content when reasonably necessary to provide support you request, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, keep users safe, respond to reports, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
The Platform may use artificial intelligence or machine learning features, including through third-party providers such as OpenAI, for functions such as budget estimates, generated job descriptions, summaries, or similar informational features.
To provide these features, we may transmit limited job-related or content-related information, such as:
We do not transmit your account email address or direct account identifiers to third-party AI providers solely for the purpose of generating AI outputs, unless separately disclosed in the Platform or required for a specific feature.
We also use automated image screening, provided through OpenAI, to check every image you upload, including job photos, profile pictures, and images sent in messages, for sexual content, graphic violence, and self-harm before other users can see it. We send a reduced-size copy of the image and do not send your name, email address, or account identifier with it. We keep the screening scores, a fingerprint (hash) of the image, and the account that uploaded it, so the same image is not screened twice and repeated prohibited uploads can be detected. If an image is blocked when you upload it, it is not posted and we do not keep a copy of it. Images flagged for a closer look, including images already on the Platform that we screen later, may be reviewed by our staff and removed.
AI features are optional or informational where presented, and outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation.

Because the Platform is a marketplace, certain information is shared between users as needed for core functionality. Job details you provide when posting a job, including the property and household information described in Section 2.4, are visible to Contractors browsing or bidding on jobs in your area, before any Contractor is hired. Your exact street address is shared only as described in the Platform. Clients and Contractors may also see profile information, bids, messages, reviews, payment-related job status, and other content reasonably necessary to use the Platform.

We may disclose personal information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, asset sale, bankruptcy, or similar corporate transaction.
If you use in-app payment features, payment processing is handled by third-party payment processors such as Stripe.
Fyxr may receive transaction status, payment identifiers, fee information, payout details, and similar payment metadata needed to support Platform operations. Stripe or other processors may separately collect and process payment card, bank account, tax, identity, and compliance information under their own privacy policies and terms.
Contractor payout and onboarding information may be collected directly by the payment processor rather than by Fyxr.
At this time, we do not use advertising SDKs, session replay tools, or cross-context behavioral advertising technologies in the consumer-facing Platform based on our current implementation.
We may use limited technical mechanisms that are reasonably necessary to operate and secure the Platform, such as authentication-related cookies or tokens, session controls, device records, push notification tokens, server logs, and similar technical tools.
If our practices change materially, we may update this Privacy Policy and any applicable in-product disclosures.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the nature of the relationship, legal requirements, technical needs, and whether deletion requests are received.
When you delete your account through the Platform, we may delete or de-identify certain information, but we may retain information where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud prevention, payment, tax, backup, compliance, dispute resolution, or recordkeeping purposes. We keep the email address of a deleted account so we can keep it off our marketing lists, including the suppression lists we give our email providers.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, mobile network, or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for using appropriate security protections on your devices and accounts.

You may update certain account information through the Platform.
You may request deletion of your account through the in-app account deletion feature. Deletion requests are subject to our right to retain information as described in this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You can stop marketing emails at any time by turning off "Product News and Offers" in Settings → Notifications, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We honor these requests within 10 business days. Turning off email notifications also stops marketing emails. We do not send marketing text messages.
You may manage push notification preferences through your device settings or the app's notification settings. We may still send service-related, transactional, legal, and security communications.

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under California law, subject to exceptions and verification, including rights to request access to certain personal information, request deletion of certain personal information, and request correction of certain personal information.
At this time, Fyxr does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used in certain privacy laws.

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request and may deny or limit requests where permitted by law.
The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 for use of the Platform. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in a manner not permitted by law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
The Platform may link to, integrate with, or rely on third-party services, including payment processors, cloud providers, file storage providers, authentication providers, AI providers, email providers, and mapping or address tools. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Changes become effective when posted unless otherwise stated.
Your continued use of the Platform after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that the updated Privacy Policy applies to your continued interactions with the Platform.
