Fyxr is opening service across the state of Oregon, beginning today in the Portland metro and rolling out to the Willamette Valley and the central Oregon corridor through the rest of the quarter.

Homeowners in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties can now post jobs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, landscaping, and general repair. Contractors licensed by the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) can apply for the platform starting this week.

Why Portland first

Portland matches a pattern we wanted to verify before broadening: an established trades workforce, clear licensing requirements at the state level, and a homeowner base that already searches online for service providers. The metro also has enough density that contractor response times stay tight even early in the rollout.

How verification works

Every contractor applying to Fyxr in Oregon goes through the same three-step check:

  1. License lookup. We verify the contractor's CCB number against the public state registry. Expired or suspended licenses are flagged and the application is paused until the contractor renews.
  2. Insurance certificate. We require a current general liability certificate on file, with the policy number and effective dates visible.
  3. Identity confirmation. A government-issued ID is matched against the name on the CCB record.

The check usually completes within two business days. Contractors can begin quoting once the file is clean.

What homeowners see

Every contractor profile shows the contractor's CCB number, license status, insurance currency, and the trades they're approved to work in. The platform does not display generic "verified" badges — the actual record is what's shown.

The standard we set in Portland is the standard we'll hold in every city: if you can't see the underlying record, neither can we.

Coming next

Eugene, Salem, and Bend open in stages over the rest of the quarter. Contractors outside the Portland metro can pre-register today and will be notified the week their county goes live.

For contractors who want to join the founding group during the rollout, the Founding Contractors Program is open through the end of the quarter.
